SHABBAT KI TISSA - SHABBAT PARAH
20th Adar 5770 - 6th March 2010
The Sixth Hour.
The Torah tells us that the people saw that Moshe delayed in coming
down the mountain, and didn't know what had happened to him, so they asked for something to be
made to lead them. Why did they think Moshe was late?
The word used is "boshesh" meaning "delayed," but it can be read as "bo shesh" meaning "six
comes." The people saw that the sixth hour of the day had come, and they thought Moshe would
have returned by then. That is where the mistake started.

WEEK FOUR
This week's question:
How much did each man have to give to be counted?
If you think you know the answer, e-mail it to
kids@ilfordsynagogue.co.uk
before Tuesday night 9th March. Please do not
use the Website over Shabbat or Yom Tov. We'll
collect the names of those who give the right answers over the 4 weeks
and then draw the winner. However, we can only give a prize if at least
five different families send in the correct answer over the 4 weeks.
You can send in an answer each week if you want to. Don't forget to
include your name and phone number. The prize will be a book to be chosen
from a selection held by the Shul Office.
Last week's answer:
Pure olive oil was the fuel in the Menorah.
Please keep trying!
