   Come and hear a talk by
   Professor Geoffrey Alderman,
   historian and journalist on a scandal averted.
   Burton was a famous Victorian explorer and
   orientalist - he translated the Kama Sutra. A
   century ago, the Board of Deputies acquired a
   manuscript in which Burton alleged that Jews practised
   human sacrifice. Many years later --------

   Professor Colin Shindler,
   Chair of the Centre for Jewish Studies at SOAS
   and the first Professor of Israeli Studies in the UK,
   discusses his most recent book "A History of Modern Israel,"
   and the part played in the story by the Jews of Britain.
