Appeals are being made for Haiti. Are we allowed to send money there, as I think there is a
lot of Avodah Zara there?
Answer:
Yes, of course one supports the appeals for the victims of Haiti, even if
G-d forbid they all were all A"Z (which isn't the case), still one gives, as
stated clearly in Shulchan Aruch in the laws of Zedakah, (Yoreh Deah 251;1
Rema; and 151:12):"One sustains the needy of A"Z ...." (see Shach etc).
May Hashem have Rachamim on them ... comfort and heal them ...
